ATTACHING FILES

Throughout FirePrograms WildFire, files can be attached to entry records, such as Incident Reports, Training Sessions, Protected Properties and more. Once attached and saved, these files become part of the FirePrograms database and are no longer dependent on the original file. Follow the below steps to attach files to records. Valid file types include:

·       Image Files - *.JPG, *.PNG, *.TIF, *.BMP, *.GIF

·       Office Files - *.DOC(X), *.XLS(X), *.TXT

·       PDF - *.PDF

·       Video Files - *.MP4, *.AVI. *.MOV, *.WMV

1.       In the desired record, go to the Attachments tab or group (this will vary depending on the record type).

2.       Click the blue plus (+) sign or use the Insert button on your keyboard to select a file to attach.

3.       Browse to the selected Local or Network Drive.

NOTE: FPWeb users MUST go to “This PC” to browse available Local and Network drives. The top selections (Quick Access, Desktop, Downloads, Documents and Pictures) are the FirePrograms web server folders and will NOT be accessible.

4.       Valid file types for selection will be standard file types: Image Files, Office Files, PDF and Video Files (5 MB limit).

5.       Locate the desired file(s) for attachment. Standard use of the Shift and CTRL keys will allow the selection of multiple files.

6.       Click Open to finalize the selection.

7.       Once attached, the Original File Name and File Extension will automatically populate from the selection.

8.       As desired give the attachment a Name, short Description and choose an Attachment Type.

9.       Default Image can only be selected for some record types, such as Personnel, Hydrants, Asset records, and Protected Properties. The file selected MUST be an image file (such as *.jpg, *.png, *.bmp).
